SATORI - DEMO

2004 - Drowning Part I
In November 2004 Satori travelled to Coventry to spend a week at Sable Rose Studio recording their first demo of 4-tracks, under the skilled production of Andy Faulkner. The four tracks consisted of Catching Up On Me, Drowning, Cage and Moved On, which were songs written by the band shortly after they had finished their charity gig tour of the Midlands. The band as a whole had written all music for the songs, with the lyrics being written by Stephen Withe (vocals), Dean Lomas (drums) and Rob Mills (lead guitar). As well as the band being in the studio a female vocal was also sourced, courtesy of Dean's friend, Catherine, who sang on Drowning, giving the song a kind of Evanesence feel to it.

2005 - Drowning Part II
In April 2005 the band went back to Sable Rose Studios, Coventry and album producer Andy Faulkner to record a further 3 new songs on to the same demo as the previous 4, hence making the a 7-track EP. The 3 new songs were Hold, Too Many Times and All About The Inside. As well as recording these 3 new songs the band took some time to go over the original 4 songs, recorded in 2004, and added on backing vocals (courtesy of drummer, Dean Lomas) to Catching Up On Me, Cage and Moved On. Backing vocals were also recorded on the 3 new songs. No additional outside vocals were sourced this time around.

2005 - Finished Product
The whole 7-track EP was completed at the end of April/beginning of May and, with packaging complete, is ready to be distributed and can be purchased from this website.

In November 2005 Satori were again back in the studios under the expert guidance of Andy Faulkner to add another new track.
Ocean Blue was recorded over a 2 day session and has now been added to the demo disc. Visit the merchandise page of this site to purchase a copy.

Twelve months later, in November 2006, after a change in the line up of the band, they were again back in Sable Rose Studios to record a second album.
This time with more of a solid sound created and a definite style found, Tomahawk Bank Holiday was born.
Producer Andy Faulkner obviously relished in the new found sound of the band and produced a masterpiece of an album. Again with covers professionally printed the finished album was finally released to the masses in January 2007.

This album saw the birth of 27 Hours as a full track with all of the band. This is soon to be released for charity with all proceeds going to Heart Disease charities and Birmingham Children's Hospital.
