Background: I have now been playing the drums for ten years. At the age of thirteen I picked up my first set of drum sticks, after my mother brought me my first drum set, after being sick of me making a racket on old empty fish tanks(as the drums) with empty plastic ‘pop’ bottles (as the sticks). I have been upsetting and deafening the neighbours ever since. My main influences have been such great as Dave Grohl (Nirvana/Foo Fighters), Bill Ward (Black Sabbath), Matt Sorum (Guns ’N’ Roses) as well as many others. But my main influence was and still is drummer Lars Ulrich (Metallica) who was the reason I began my beats. Over the years I have been in several bands. Started in discordance to later moving to biff butlers (son of geezer bulter) Apartment 26, to move onto a band called choke who later changed to Persona. All have a range of different styles and influences which has been great, and all the gigs have been good fun. But the ultimate band is the one I am currently in Satori. In the last twelve months we have achieved much more than I could have wished for which includes a string of gigs, two demo’s, a great fan base and of course the semi-final of the Emergenza Battle of the bands, but the greatest achievement is making five great friends in Satori. In November of 2006, following Steve leaving the band, I made the leap from behind the drums to lead vocalist and frontman of the band. This has felt really natural and I am having the time of my life.
